Lake Reflection (Irish Town Park)

A month or so ago we went there to do some canoe and I thought the trees close to the water looked really nice. This was in the morning and the sun was a little harsh. I was wondering where the sun would be pointing in the early morning, hoping it would be from the side.

It did as you can see from this website. I was on that square pad you see on the bottom. There's no real setup here but I took a picture anyway. It shows you how far/near I was with the 28mm. The dock is just out of frame.

I wasn't planning on going that early but when I woke up, I saw the light and said to myself: I should go now because usually the earlier, the better. So this picture is taken at around 7:15 am on August 3rd.

This was shot with my Fujifilm X-T20 + Fujinon 27mm F/2.8. This is out of camera raw with Lightroom presets (Adobe Color):

The first thing is the weird paint effect with trees for this Fuji camera. If you're not at 1:1, you don't really see it but for some reasons, maybe it's the greens, trees don't look tack sharp. I opened this with Capture One as well and it's the same result.

It was hard to decide between a cool tone or a warm tone and of course I went with a warm tone like most of my pictures. I played around a lot with the hues and luminance to achieve this look.

Going somewhere early is not always pleasant but sometimes it can pay off. I really like the colors in this picture. It took some time to find these colors but I learned with patience you can achieve the look you want.
