There's a golf course near my place and the sun rises on one of the holes so I wanted to go scout for a composition before even attempting getting up early. So while walking around, I found some hay sticking out of the snow with the sun backlighting creating some nice shadows. The snow looked soft and had a lot of texture.
So here's where I was. The blue arrow is this shot. The green arrow is the hole where the sun rises. By the way, here's the website I used SunCalc.org. It's also in the sidebar.
This shot was taken with my Fujifilm X-T20 + Fujinon 27mm F/2.8. This is out of camera raw with Lightroom presets (Adobe Color):
The sun is still high at 4PM but it's not too bad. I did overexpose my shot but this wasn't the biggest issue. It was my sensor scratch and the power lines. Removing those imperfections in Gimp was a pain but in the end, it paid off. It was also hard to not go overboard with the colors.
