My wife and I went to the park one day and we saw plenty of big pine codes on
the ground. We brought some home and I thought I could maybe do some macro
shot with it.
Unfortunately, that didn't work out but I did think about bringing the pine
cone in its natural habitat. So I went to a nearby park and found some pines
so lay the pine cone on. Here's the setup:
This was taken at 11 am so the sun was high and harsh but because we're in the wood, the light is diffused by the trees. I tried the find a spot where the light pattern was lighting the pine cone.
These were shot with my Fujifilm X-T3 + Rokinon 50mm 1.2. This is out of
camera raw with Lightroom presets (Adobe Color):
Nothing crazy for editing. I raised the shadows, lowered the highlights, and did some local adjustments to help bring out the details of the subject. It looks a little warmer because of spit toning.

I should go to parks more often. There are many little things that we can
capture. It's also very forgiving in terms of light because the trees diffuse
the light.
