Empty Muddy River

I just got my 55-200mm lens and I wanted to try it out. I remembered there was a nice loan tree in a field. Unfortunately, once I got there, there weren't any leaves left on the tree. When I returned, I kept an eye out for other compositions and found this.

Being able to zoom in a bit allowed me to compress the scene and stand at a safe distance. You can see there's another platform between the river and the trail but I was too scared I would sink in the mud. This is part of the Petitcodiac river so the tides are crazy. This part can be filled up to the ledge and also be empty like in the picture. I was lucky the I caught it at it's lowest point. Makes it look like mountains.

This shot was with my Fujifilm X-T3 + Fujinon XF55-200mm. This is out of camera raw with Lightroom presets (Adobe Color):

Not a huge difference since the contrast was already very high. I did bring up some shadows and did some dodge and burning in some areas. I pushed the greens more to the yellow side to enhance the warm sun on the grass. I increased texture and clarity in the river to reveal more details.

I'm really happy with this as it's very different. It was a little difficult to compose because of the main river on top of the frame. I didn't have much grass to play with. Maybe I could build courage and try to step nearer without being stupid and get a more top-down perspective which would give me more room to work with. I also don't like the lower right patch of grass. It's a little too big but there wasn't much I could do.
