Rotary Park Trails

One soggy autumn morning I was off and decided to go for a walk in the trails of a park near my house. The woods around here are dense so it's a little difficult to find isolated subjects but the goal here was just exploring and I loved it.

The smell and tranquility were amazing. I was alone and it wasn't too cold or hot. A little damp from the rain in the night. I didn't get any great shots but this one, in particular, I like though. I was walking and there was a big patch of these 4 leaf plants. I tried to find the best one and placed some red leaves underneath. Red and green go well together.

This was shot with my Fujifilm X-T3 + Rokinon 50mm 1.2 + Macro tube. This is out of camera raw with Lightroom presets (Adobe Color):

My Rokinon 50mm has a terrible minimal focus distance so I had to use the tubes. I wanted to create separation as much as possible with the background so I shot at F/4. Basically here, I have 2 radial filters. One for the subject and one for outside the subject. I created a vignette that way but also added vignetting. For the subject, I added clarity, texture, and decreased the highlights. It really made the leaves pop. I also adjusted the HSL to get the green I wanted.

This shot is just a random splash of red I saw. Not a portfolio shot but I like it none less.

This shot was with my Fujifilm X-T3 + Fujinon XF55-200mm. This is out of camera raw with Lightroom presets (Adobe Color):

I had to work extra hard here to make it somewhat ok but that's ok. I decreased the clarity of everything outside the subject to help with separation since the background is really busy. I increased clarity, texture, and exposure a bit on the subject.

I can't recommend enough to go out on a scouting walk in the woods. It's so relaxing. I ended up being out for almost 3h because I was enjoying it so much. These pictures are not that great, to be honest, but I was not expecting to get something great either. If you go out with that mindset, you'll enjoy yourself even more. Autumn is the best time of the year.
