Misty Night Road

When driving back from our parent's place, I noticed it was misty and foggy. Once inside I was contemplating going out to try. This is a sign that you should go and so I did.

This is maybe 2 minutes walk from my house. I remember trying a practice shot of this street before. I was up higher which would look even better but there are so many street signs and one, in particular, was obstructing the street so not very nice.

This shot was with my Fujifilm X-T3 + Fujinon XF55-200mm. This is out of camera raw with Lightroom presets (Adobe Color):

I tried composing with the top right light as a guide. I know the colors are completely different but they're the same whitebalance, this is all with color grading. This was the trickiest part, it's so easy to go overboard with the color. I darken the left part and the bottom of the image to really isolate the highlights from the street poles. To emphasize the haziness, I decreased clarity and dehaze. I also used Photoshop to remove a lot of signs on the left side.

We don't often get fog in the evening so I'm happy I went out and got a shot I'm happy with. This is not always the case though. Often times, you go out and you try hard but it just doesn't work. But, the more your try, the more chances you get.
