Self Portrait Reading

One evening I was a bit bored and I walked into the living room and saw these cool shadows because of our blinds. I had to give it a try. It was also a while since I got the camera out.

Taking a self-portrait and composing these kinds of shots is not easy. I tried many compositions before settling on this one. I should've taken a shot of the setup but I'm sure you get the idea.

This was shot with my Fujifilm X-T3 + Rokinon 50mm 1.2. This is out of camera raw with Lightroom presets (Adobe Monochrome):

Very simple with this one. Contrast +6 and Clarity -12. Rare I decrease the clarity but I thought it looked better here. In the tone curve, I lifted the blacks and lifted the highlight.

I have 2 radial filters. One for the vignette and one for my face. I cranked the clarity and texture for my face since that's the focal point.

50mm 1/80sec F/8 ISO 160

I'm happy that I experimented with this shot. It was difficult to look natural and where to position the shadow lines. This is something every photographer should try at one point. It's a really nice way to learn.
