Stormy Beach

I saw some clouds moving in and it was calling for rain later in the evening and I never tried moody dark skies before and I thought seascape would suit it well.

This is probably my favorite shot of the evening. I like the piece of wood in the sand, and the lighthouse in the background which the log is kind of pointing at. The sky is also interesting.

For this picture, I thought I'll give it a try to my new ND filters. I think I stacked 2 of them, I can't remember but I wanted at least 30sec.

I think it turned out ok. I like the composition but I would've thought it would've made the water smoother. There's also a bright sun patch in the sky that I only noticed once home.

This looked much better in real life than in-camera.

This is a 16x9 crop. I was sure there were some light patches but in the picture it doesn't show it much. I tried my best in post to bring it out but none the less I like the composition with the clouds but some light patches would've made a big difference.

200mm 1/100sec F/13 ISO 160

A simple picture but I like it for what it is. I love the highlights on the sand ridges and the small sun rays.

This is an HDR with 3 images. There's a lot of editing to control the shadows and highlights.

Dark stormy clouds really make interesting pictures. I was wishing for even more dramatic clouds than this but I still got some good shots. I will try to find another location for similar conditions next time.
